Came here for the food and was blown away. Had the beef stew and it was huge! 3 large portions of meat with plenty of fresh veggies and potatoes plus the soup tasted wonderfully fresh. Had the horchata drink and it was fresh and well made. You can tell this is a good place when all the local Mexicans kept coming in to shop and/or eat. 2 guys working the kitchen on a Sunday after 7pm were great. I speak Spanish but they can speak enough English to make it happen. Decent size grocery store with plenty of items inside - everything Mexican. Arríba!
We've been to La Superior several times & love it!!! It's a totally authentic market & their selection of canned goods, packaged cookies, piñatas, fresh baked pan dulce, imported sodas, fresh meats, produce - is awesome! We bought a delicious tres leches cake & they did a very clean job of writing Happy Birthday & my niece's name on it! Customer service is excellent. It helps to know some Spanish but I have talked to a couple employees that were fluent in English too. Their fresh food is amazing!! The Pozole, tacos, menudo, quesadillas - all delicious & huge portions!! I highly recommend La Superior for nostalgic authenticity & ambiance of a local, neighborhood market & restaurant!
I came here for lunch on a Sunday with a friend and his family!! All I'm going to say it was probably one of the best authentic Mexican "unAmericanized" food I have ever had! The two different sauces(cilantro) & (hot) sauce absolutely the best I have had! I met the owner, Alvaro who was very gracious and kind! He said he had been operating this grocery store/restaurant joint for over 16 years! I hope I can be back soon! If I lived in this area, this would be my Mexican food go to place!! The prices were very reasonable as well! I highly recommend this place!
Best place if you're looking for authentic Mexican. The owner was very helpful though most of the staff seemed like their English is a little basic. They were very helpful and kind. Definitely going back.
If you're looking for AUTHENTIC Mexican food and groceries look no further. This is one of the few spots south of Nashville where you will get legit tacos, sopes, Birria, etc. Also, the Mexican community down here considers La Superior to be the cleanest, most trustworthy spot so you can't go wrong! Just don't expect to see any cheddar cheese or ground beef in your tacos ;)
